| We grow over 50 different kinds of fruits and vegetables, including many heirloom varieties. As one member states: "The range of vegetables and herbs is incredible. I had given up hope of finding some of them outside Europe. Your newsletter was informative, providing the rationale for your operation. Thank you for taking the risk. We are with you on this!"
Weather permitting, we deliver for an 18-week period from mid-June to mid-October and provide a "Frozen Vegetable Share" and a "Storage Vegetable Share," in the winter. We have drop-sites at churches in Minneapolis, St. Paul and St. Cloud, as well as Alexandria. We also have a fall festival each season and our members are welcome to visit the farm throughout the season. The goal of our farm is also to educate folks about today's crisis in agri-"culture," as well as teach our members about the basics of eating "in-season" vegetables. We put out a newsletter every week telling about the goings-on at the farm and in the world. We also include recipes and have cooking classes once a year. The name "Ploughshare" symbolizes our work for justice with our passion for growing food and being good stewards of the land. | |||||
