Dark Horse Farm

Dark Horse Farm, north of Trail Minnesota, focuses on a large certified-organic market garden where the work is done primarily with horses and hands. We operate a memberhip-based CSA in Bemidji through the summer and fall and sell produce to food retailers, restaurants and caterers. In addition to the garden, the Mallea's sell various meats directly to people, including lamb and pork. Center to all farm activities are their three Percheron draft horses which provide this low-tech farm with a reliable and fun source of power.
News & Updates: Sign up as a 2006 member of the Dark Horse CSA. We deliver to Bemidji weekly, and will begin our deliveries in mid-June. For restauranteurs or institutions, contact us for information on bulk organic produce. Also taking orders for butcher hogs, ready in autumn 2006.
